Soap Making 101: Crafting Cold Process Bar Soap

$50.00
sold out

Class Description

Discover the art and science of traditional soap making! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you will learn how to design and formulate your own balanced soap recipe from scratch.

We will break down the specific qualities of various plant oils and butters, exploring how each ingredient contributes to the lather, hardness, and conditioning of your finished bar.

Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Your safety is our top priority! Because we will be working with lye (sodium hydroxide) during the workshop, wearing the correct protective clothing is mandatory:

  • Required Attire: Please wear a long-sleeve shirt, pants, and closed-toe shoes (no sandals or open-toed shoes allowed).

  • Eye Protection: Safety eyeglasses will be provided for all participants to wear during the hands-on portion of the class.

What to Expect

  • Hands-On Demonstration: Watch and learn as we mix a batch of traditional goat milk soap using a trusted base recipe.

  • Take-Home Gift: Since cold process soap requires a 4-week curing process, you won't be able to take home the exact batch made during today's session. However, every participant will go home with a fully cured, ready-to-use bar of handcrafted soap from our previous class!
