An Update From Jones Creek Farm: Closing Our Farm Stand and What’s Next
Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to navigate the steps and requirements requested by the county. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we simply couldn't move through the expensive, complex process fast enough, and our time ran out.
Recently, we were informed that we can no longer offer vendor-supplied products at our farm stand. While we love offering our own homegrown goods, the reality of running a small farm stand is that visitors don’t stop by every single week just for tea and handmade soap. They come for fresh bread, dairy, eggs, and warm baked goods. While our farm eggs are entirely our own, staples like fresh bread, milk, and baked treats have always been supplied by our wonderful local community network.
By restricting the very items that drive consistent foot traffic to our farm, we are left with no viable path forward for the physical stand. Because of this, we have made the difficult decision to close the physical farm stand completely, effective immediately.
Whether this closure is temporary or permanent is still up in the air. Time—and a lot of moving parts—will tell.
Looking Forward and Getting Involved
As we look toward the future, local community leadership matters more than ever. This is an election year, and the outcome directly impacts small agricultural businesses like ours across the county.
One of the candidates running for Commissioner District 1, Michael Cook, has been a tremendous advocate for our farm, is a regular customer, and visits us almost every weekend. If our community bands together to elect Michael Cook, we have a real chance of having someone on the board who truly understands and supports local agriculture. I also plan to reach out to other candidates in the race to see where they stand and whether they are willing to meet and discuss the challenges facing small farmers.

While the physical farm stand is closing, we aren't going anywhere! You can still support us and get your favorite goods through the following ways:
Online Shop: All of our handcrafted soaps, wellness items, and farm creations will continue to be available right here on our website with local pickup and shipping options.
Classes & Workshops: I will be scheduling hands-on garden and homesteading classes just as soon as I can catch my breath and transition our focus.
